Kevin Barber, CEO
Kevin Barber joined Thinfilm as CEO in November 2018. He is responsible for driving worldwide strategic growth, scaling product innovation and manufacturing operations while increasing market penetration and identifying new business opportunities.
Mr Barber was previously Senior Vice President, General Manager Mobile Division of Synaptics, where he drove the strategy, business development, M&A and execution of growing revenue fourfold to over $1 billion annually. Previously, he was CEO of ACCO Semiconductor a Venture Capital funded startup. Prior to ACCO, Mr. Barber served as Senior Vice President, General Manager Mobile Business at Skyworks Solutions where he led the strategy achieving top RF power amplifier market share in the high growth mobile market. Prior to Skyworks, Mr. Barber served as Senior Vice President, Operations at Conexant leading strategic efforts of global manufacturing scale, technology development, and supply chain management enabling Conexant to be a leader in diverse markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Mr. Barber currently serves as a Board Director at Intevac.
Ole Ronny Thorsnes, Chief Financial Officer
Ole Ronny Thorsnes joined Thinfilm in August of 2016 as Chief Financial Officer. In his role he oversees several functions within the Company, including Finance, Accounting, Analyst Relations, IT, and HR.
Prior to Thinfilm, Mr. Thorsnes was most recently Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, for Orkla ASA, a leading supplier of branded consumer goods and concept solutions operating primarily in the Nordic and Baltic regions. He previously served as a senior associate at McKinsey & Company, which he joined in 2008, working with a broad range of industries and focusing mainly on strategy, finance and operational initiatives. Mr. Thorsnes holds a Master of Science degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology’s (NTNU) and the University of Edinburgh.
Dr. Peter Fischer, Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Fischer joined Thinfilm in January 2014 as Chief Product Officer. He was named Chief Operating Officer in November of 2015 and oversees manufacturing, supply chain, and technology transfer for the Company.
Prior to Thinfilm he was Chief Technology Officer at Plastic Logic, a printed electronics startup and producer of flexible displays. Earlier in his career he served as Director, Back-end Products at Qimonda, and Senior Manager, Front-end Process Integration at Infineon Technologies. He was elected to the board of the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A) in 2011 and maintains that role in representing Thinfilm. In 2012, Dr. Fischer was named one of the top "Forty Innovators Building the Foundation of the Next-gen Electronics Industry" by EETimes. He holds a diploma and Ph.D. in Physics from University of Magdeburg.
Christian Delay, Chief Commercial Officer
Christian Delay joined Thinfilm in May 2016 as SVP, Strategic Marketing and GM, Software Platforms and in February 2018 was promoted to EVP Software. In these roles, Mr. Delay was in charge of the CNECT™ cloud-based platform and growing the ecosystem of software partners. In the CCO role, Mr. Delay oversees Software, IT strategy and solutions, Sales, Business Development and Marketing.
Mr. Delay was previously with the Ask Partner Network (an IAC company) where he was responsible for the strategy and growth of APN’s Mobile business. His efforts focused on building search and advertising solutions that were integrated with, and distributed to, application developers and OEMs, which led to significant user, query and revenue growth. Prior to joining APN, Mr. Delay held senior positions at Opera Software, Obopay, Yahoo and Infospace. He earned his MBA from Duke University after working for Arthur Andersen and JPMorgan in Switzerland.
Dr. Christer Karlsson, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Karlsson has a Ph.D. in surface and semiconductor physics from Linköping University in 1994. He served as a Researcher, Project Manager and Deputy Research Director at the National Defense Research Establishment, Linköping, Sweden for six years in the field of laser systems including technology areas such as semiconductor lasers, optics, signal processing and system design.
He joined Thin Film Electronics AB in 2000 where he has served as project manager, group manager and Technology Director leading developments of Si CMOS designs, printed memory, transistors and other devices as well as integrated products for a variety of applications. Mr. Karlsson is situated in the Linköping office.
Poorab Shah, EVP Software
Poorab Shah joined Thinfilm in June 2018 as EVP Software. In this role he is responsible for the leadership and management of Thinfilm’s software and IT strategy/solutions, the CNECT™ Cloud Platform, and the Company’s growing ecosystem of software partners.
Mr. Shah joined Thinfilm from AdBlock, where he served as Chief Technology Officer overseeing product, platform, and growth initiatives in support of tens of millions of users worldwide. Prior to AdBlock, he was SVP Product & Technology at Ask Partner Network, an IAC company, where he led the global search platform and a portfolio of desktop and mobile products that were integrated with, and distributed to, Fortune 500 clients & OEMs. Prior to APN, he held senior positions at Mindspark (an IAC company) and Priceline.com, building and scaling a range of products during the rapid growth phase of these businesses. Mr. Shah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Gujarat University in India, and earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering from CEPT University in India.
Giampaolo Marino, EVP Hardware Solutions
Giampaolo Marino joined Thinfilm in July 2018 as EVP Hardware Solutions. In this role he leads the Product Management and Engineering functions for Thinfilm, as well as the Company’s Quality Management program and hardware ecosystem strategic partnerships.
Mr. Marino joined Thinfilm from NXP Semiconductors, a global leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications. While at NXP he served as GM and Head of Product Line, Audio & Voice Solution Products, IoT, managing a global team responsible for R&D, marketing, business development, system architecture, product definition, and customer application support. Mr. Marino also led NXP’s Audio & Voice solution strategy for the Mobile and IoT market segments across four strategic areas: Mobile & Wearables, Automotive, Home Entertainment, and Home Control & Security. Prior to NXP, Mr. Marino held senior product-related positions with Monolithic Power Systems, Texas Instruments, Intersil, and Analog Devices. He earned an MBA in Corporate Entrepreneurship, Marketing and General Management from the Franklin W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from San Jose State University.
